The Lodge

Extensive remodelling of an existing local store in Epping Forest, offering improved environmental performance, introducing landscaping and biodiversity and providing high quality apartments above and behind.

The building form takes cues from the detached villa typology prevalent in the area, designed as a contemporary interpretation of the historic hunting lodges on the edge of the forest.

Internally, the layouts have been designed for compact living above a reimagined community shop, with inset balconies offering external amenity to residents in addition to the new shared gardens proposed.
